Palliative Care Advance Practice Provider

Inova Health System
parental leave, paid time off, retirement plan
United States, Virginia, Fairfax
Jul 09, 2026

The Inova Palliative team is seeking a full-time Palliative Care Advanced Practice Provider (APP- NP/PA) to join our growing team. This APP will care for adult patients at the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus as part of an interdisciplinary team of 5 physicians, 3 advance practice providers, two clinical therapists, a nurse, a chaplain, and hospice coordinators. Our comprehensive, expert team carries out specialty consultation throughout the 923-bed hospital campus, with a strong focus on both advanced symptom management and serious illness communication.

The Fairfax Palliative Care team is also part of a larger Inova wide palliative care team including 9 physicians, 9 APPs, 7 clinical therapists, 4 hospice coordinators, nurses, and a palliative chaplain addressing acute care and outpatient palliative needs.

This is a particularly exciting time for Palliative Care at Inova as we have launched Inova Serious Illness Care to promote primary palliative skills across the organization and increase electronic tools and capabilities to guide and document advance care planning and goals of care discussions. Inova is also launching a joint venture in hospice care, Gilchrist Inova Hospice.
