Description

Assured Information Security (AIS) is seeking a Software Engineer III with a focus on technical leadership to join our Cyber AI team. In this role, you will support the engineering platforms and microservices that power mission-critical applications used across multiple Department of Defense (DoD) customers.

This position is remote-friendly, however, for employees located within 60 minutes of our Rome, NY headquarters there is a hybrid requirement of three days onsite per week.

What You'll Do:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective, long-term solutions to improve system reliability and performance.
  • Provide technical leadership by guiding software architecture, design decisions, and development best practices across projects.
  • Apply knowledge of security concepts and networks.
  • Set up and use virtualized infrastructure in developing and testing code.

Education/Experience/Skillset Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field and 5 years of relevant professional experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with Python and C/C++ programming
  • Software static and dynamic analysis, with a focus on malware analysis and reverse engineering
  • Debugging
  • Networking (TCP/IP) and socket level programming
  • Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and implementing secure, reliable service-to-service communication.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies and orchestration platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Istio.
  • Software analysis, optimization, and reverse engineering experience
  • Assembly programming and analysis experience
  • Secure programming and development best practices
  • Demonstrated experience with virtualization technologies and platforms such as KVM, QEMU, LXD, and IntroVirt.
  • Deep understanding in low-level internals of any of the following technologies: Windows, Unix/Linux, Network Devices, Mobile devices, Unit Test

Travel: Less than 10%

Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

US Salary Range: $104,000 - $158,000

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on several factors including location, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package which includes employer paid health insurance and a 7% contribution to your 401k, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation.
