Introduction to the job
This is a great opportunity to support our YieldStar metrology system from install to ramp and into HVM sustaining at a new US-based advanced-node customer. Our customer is building its development line at the in Austin, Texas, with a future high-volume manufacturing location expected elsewhere in Texas. In this role, you will be one of the two initial equipment engineers responsible for the tools performance. As a Field Service Engineer YieldStar, you will install, qualify, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair ASML metrology equipment at the customer site. You will work directly with customer engineers, line managers, and ASML technical teams to keep tools available, stable, and performing to specification. You will independently execute planned and unplanned maintenance, perform diagnostics, drive issue resolution, and escalate when support is needed. This role requires disciplined operational execution, strong technical problem solving, and clear ownership of tool performance and customer commitments. This position is initially based in Austin, TX, and is expected to transition toward the future HVM location as the customer's install base grows. In the initial period, depending your skill level, expect travel to other office locations to learn details around install and maintenance of YieldStar systems. You will report directly to the local Applications Manager who reports into the Head of US CS Applications. You'll be part of the regional network of dedicated YieldStar engineers, a network that you share info with and can rely on for support and BKMs. Role and responsibilitiesThis role requires clear ownership of customer outcomes, disciplined operational execution, strong technical skills, and strong communication. You will one of the two technical lead equipment engineers at the site and work closely with application engineers, customer engineers, and management. The local Applications organization includes Field Applications Engineers supporting EUV, DUV, YieldStar, Control Loops, and On-Product performance, as well as Field Equipment Engineers supporting YieldStar from Equipment Install to Sustaining. The full Applications pilot-line team is a team of around 10 people (application engineers and metrology equipment engineers) and there multiple peer equipment engineers on EUV and DUV on site to align ideas with. The team may expand as the install base grows and the HVM site comes online. You executable operational plans on YieldStar, and represent the Voice of the Customer toward ASML headquarters support teams. In the initial phase, the team will support the other US fabs to hone their skills on the specific platforms as well as to demonstrate capability and learn on customer specific tools configurations and their purpose. Once tools are set to arrive in Austin, the focus shifts to on-site pilot-line execution. You will drive YieldStar Equipment Engineering support from Install to tool qualification, wafer introduction, pilot-line performance, and sustaining. This requires close alignment with local teams, global stakeholders, ASML counterparts, and the customer to ensure technical execution, issue resolution, and operational readiness.
