PURPOSE:
The Area Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating specific unit and area operations at the Princeton site. There are three specific areas/zones in the plant established for individual Supervision:
- General plant (Primary Crude unit, Clay Unit, Final Distillation Unit).
- Hydrocal Complex (Hydrogen Generation Unit, Hydrotreater, Amines Unit and Sulfur Recovery Unit), Utilities and Wastewater.
- Loading Operations
Plant Operators in defined plant areas/zones will report through this position. This role also provides process expertise, technical knowledge, and support to the operations of the Process units and Utilities.
This role is responsible for ensuring all HSE requirements for each assigned areas of the plant are met, product quality meets specifications, production schedules are executed, and maintenance activities are coordinated with operations to ensure mechanical integrity and maximum plant reliability.
This position is a key member of the site staff and expected to interact with plant personnel to solve problems and make substantial decisions to effect improvement in assigned areas of the refinery. Area Supervisors will also be responsible relief Shift Supervisor duties as needed.
KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains execution of operating plan in area within defined limits.
- Drives quality, yield, and energy optimization in defined areas/zones.
- Performs payroll and scheduling of employees in assigned area/zone.
- Maintains procedures for specific areas/zones.
- Monitors Key process Variables (KPVs) and advises team of actions needed.
- Ensure team members follow operating procedures to ensure product quality is consistent and meets specifications.
- Owner of process operating envelope for safe, compliant, and reliable production in assigned area/zone.
- Works with Process, Safety and Reliability groups to develop SOLs for area and monitors compliance.
- Owner of assigned area incident investigations and participates in PHAs.
- Routinely audits area housekeeping and crew safety (procedures, safe work permitting, etc.).
- Performs area safety audits and safety team meetings.
- Assures execution of process and water treatment programs in defined areas/zones.
- Verifies maintenance PMs are executed on schedule.
- Operations/Maintenance Coordinator for the area/zone assigned.
- Focus on initiative-taking ways to achieve HSE goals for reducing injuries, spills, permit deviations, etc.
- Owner of area/zone Environmental and Title V incidents for investigation and correction.
- Ensure all safety work permits issued comply with Safe Work procedures.
- Any other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:
- 5 years' experience as an Operator, Shift Supervisor or in support of manufacturing units.
- Proficiency in Office Suite software
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:
- Bachelor's degree, Business Administration, or related field
- 8+ years' experience preferred as an Operator, Shift Supervisor or in support of manufacturing units.
