Job Description
ECU Department of the Registrar is currently seeking several Administrative Assistants.

On a daily basis, Administrative Assistants would be expected to:

  • Scan physical records into Xtender
  • Ensure integrity of scanned images (i.e., clear and legible; matching student information)
  • Utilize Banner for student record verification
  • Perform file maintenance and organization


Admin Assistants may also be asked to perform other duties as assigned.
The Office of the Registrar is located a short walk from main campus in the Uptown/Downtown district at 207 E Fifth Street. The office is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Admin Assistants should expect to work up to 20 hours a week with the possibility of up to 24 hours a week if warranted.
GPA Requirement Minimum of 2.0
Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.)
Candidates should

  • Possess an understanding of scanning equipment and software, or an ability to learn the skills necessary to successfully work with scanning technology
  • Possess organizational skills
  • Demonstrate attention to detail/be detail-oriented
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Demonstrate the ability to be courteous and professional in a collegial/professional environment
  • Be willing to work with student records and uphold privacy regulations regarding Personal Identifying Information (PII)


Additionally, all applicants should be enrolled as a student and be in good academic standing with East Carolina University, as well as local, state, and federal laws. Additionally, candidates must possess a minimum cumulative GPA of a 2.00. Rate of pay: $10-$12 per hour, based on experience.
