Summary:

This position supports the development and execution of comprehensive fundraising strategies for an assigned portfolio of UNC Health Foundation service lines, programs, and philanthropic priorities. Working in close partnership with Foundation and program leadership, the position develops integrated annual giving plans that leverage direct mail, email, and grateful patient fundraising to strengthen donor acquisition, retention, engagement, and revenue growth. Responsibilities include identifying fundraising opportunities, aligning campaign strategies with organizational goals, and providing data-informed recommendations to maximize fundraising performance. The role utilizes donor analytics, audience segmentation, testing, and campaign performance metrics to optimize results and continuously improve annual giving initiatives. In addition, the position coordinates with internal stakeholders, external agencies, and production vendors to manage campaign planning, production, budgets, timelines, and quality standards while monitoring outcomes and identifying opportunities to enhance stewardship and the overall effectiveness of the annual giving program.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an annual plan to secure lead annual gifts ($25,000+) in support of identified priorities.
  • Develops and manages annual fundraising plans for an assigned portfolio of programs and service lines, overseeing the planning, execution, and evaluation of direct mail, email, and grateful patient fundraising campaigns.
  • Partners with Foundation, service line, and program leadership to establish fundraising priorities, identify philanthropic opportunities, and align annual giving strategies with organizational objectives.
  • Analyzes donor data and campaign performance to inform audience selection, segmentation, ask strategies, testing plans, and ongoing optimization of fundraising efforts.
  • Coordinates with external agencies, print and mail vendors, and internal stakeholders to manage campaign production, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Education Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree required.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Professional Experience Requirements:
* Requires three (3) years of development or development related experience.
* A successful track record in soliciting and closing lead annual gifts ($25,000+) is required.
* Experience in an academic medical center, university or large college setting is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
* Excellent interpersonal, organizational and presentational skills required. Superior written and verbal communication skills required. Working knowledge of computer-related office tools and database management.
* Must demonstrate ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse constituencies, meet deadlines, be self-motivated, work independently, demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to shifting priorities.
* Must have a customer service-oriented attitude, and the ability to be a team player with proven relationship and influencing skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues from a variety of internal and external functional areas.
