Summary:

The IS Director will be responsible for developing organizational strategies and processes to support the MaineHealth Enterprise Intelligence team as well as existing data integration and management systems. This role manages strategically important disciplines with an enterprise impact through diverse teams in a highly complex environment, and partners with stakeholders to advance cloud based initiatives build on AWS (S3, Redshift, Glue, and DMS), oversees database administration and data engineering functions, including platforms such as Epic and ensures the reliability, security, cost efficiency, and scalability of enterprise data assets. This IS director will have budget and vendor management responsibility. This role will be responsible for consultative work in term of high level analysis of analytics and quality applications, as well as the technology to support them, with a particular focus on cloud based data platforms, and will advise on the selection and implementation of AI enabled systems with a focus on data governance.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Master's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: Eight to ten (8-10) years of proven leadership experience including demonstrated success managing managers.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Strong understanding of both on-premises database platforms (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) and modern cloud-based data ecosystems, particularly AWS (S3, Redshift, Glue, DMS). Strong project management experience. Knowledge of modern data lake and lakehouse architecture concepts, including Iceberg table formats and other open table formats used to optimize storage, query performance, and cost. Experience developing maintenance, support and strategy for Epic's data architecture environment (eg Clarity, Caboodle). Outstanding organizational skills including knowledge of quality and project management tools and techniques. Demonstrated success leading data strategy within complex organizations.

The pay range for this position is $154,211.20to $208,624.00per year.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
