Education Requirements



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • CPA or advanced accounting credentials preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accrual-based accounting principles


Experience Requirements



  • 3-6+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience with month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and internal controls
  • Experience supporting audits and preparing financial schedules
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel


Preferred Qualifications



  • Construction accounting or job cost accounting experience
  • Experience with WIP (Work in Progress), Work on Hand (WOH), and cost-to-complete reporting
  • Experience with ERP platforms such as CMiC or similar systems
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with operations, project management, payroll, and finance teams


Physical Capabilities



  • Ability to work primarily in an office environment
  • Frequent use of computers, financial systems, and standard office equipment
  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods while analyzing financial data
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders


Job Duties



  • Lead assigned portions of the monthly and year-end financial close process
  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and account reconciliations
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure financial records are fully supported
  • Review financial statements, analyze variances, and resolve discrepancies
  • Partner with project managers and operations teams to ensure accurate job costing and revenue recognition
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activities
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation
  • Identify process improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
  • Research accounting issues, recommend solutions, and ensure timely resolution
