Title: Business Analyst I
Location: Salt Lake City, UT 84104
Duration: 12 Months with possible extension
Position Background
This role supports utility integration and business applications, with a strong focus on processing payments, researching issues, supporting customers, and analyzing business processes. The position requires working closely with internal and external stakeholders while assisting with business analysis, testing, documentation, and payment-related activities.
Day to Day:
- Process miscellaneous customer payments by researching and applying payments to the appropriate WBS, GL codes, and work orders.
- Support payment processing through Oracle and JPMorgan Lockbox workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payments and refunds.
- Research issues, identify the correct source of information, and resolve inquiries.
- Answer approximately a dozen calls per day from internal and external customers.
- Gather and document business requirements.
- Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams.
- Participate in system enhancements, testing (System/UAT), implementation, and business readiness activities.
- Support user training, documentation, and communication.
- Perform business, critical, and data analysis to solve problems.
- Provide support during implementation, go-live, and hypercare.
- Apply payments using WBS codes, GL codes, and work orders.
- Perform data entry and prepare memos for various business groups.
- Support payment processing through Oracle and JPMorgan Lockbox systems.

Preferred Qualifications
- Oracle experience (preferred).
- Accounting or finance experience/background.
- Accounting, Accounts Payable, banking, or other payment-processing experience is beneficial. Utility industry experience is not required, and candidates from other industries will be considered if they possess the required analytical, customer service, and payment-processing skills.
- General Oracle knowledge is beneficial.
- CBAP certification is an asset but not required.

- Candidates should be comfortable performing data entry while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- The first month will focus on learning Oracle, payment workflows, and identifying the appropriate internal contacts for research and issue resolution.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred; however, candidates without a degree but with at least 5 years of relevant experience will be considered.
- Related accounting degree is not required.
- Candidates willing to relocate to Salt Lake City at their own expense will be considered
