Job Title: R&D Sourcing Manager

Location: Prefer on-site at Client office - Foster City or Parsippany, New Jersey, 07054

Duration: 11+Months

Position Overview: The R&D Sourcing Manager will be responsible for sourcing and contracting development organizations to support Gilead's global Phase I-IV clinical trials, as well as other ad hoc projects within the Vendor Outsourcing department. This role will primarily focus on clinical ancillary services and systems used across development.

Familiarity with technology, systems, and software is a plus, as well as experience supporting various Development Functions (Clinical Operations, Clinical Data Science, Real-World Evidence, Regulatory Affairs, Patient Safety, Quality and/or Medical Affairs). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of contracting frameworks and general legal terms. They must be able to quickly review contracts, negotiate business terms, and support the negotiation of legal terms. Strong organizational skills are essential to ensure accurate cataloging of terms and conditions in the contract database, as well as support many sourcing and contracting negotiations at one time through our various systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the full vendor selection lifecycle, including RFI/RFP processes, vendor evaluation and selection, contract negotiation, change order management, and agreement closeout.
  • Assist other Vendor Outsourcing staff in resolving moderately complex contract issues.
  • With support from internal stakeholders and the Legal department, help negotiate less complex or lower-value contracts.
  • Interact regularly with internal and external stakeholders, including Clinical Operations, Finance, Legal, Business Conduct, Vendor Management, and Payments.
  • Manage competing priorities effectively and work independently with minimal supervision.



Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Strong understanding of contracting frameworks and general legal terms
  • Ability to quickly review contracts, negotiate business terms, and support negotiation of legal terms
  • Strong organizational skills for accurate cataloging of terms and conditions in the contract database
  • Experience supporting multiple sourcing and contracting negotiations simultaneously
  • Familiarity with technology, systems, and software (plus)
  • Experience supporting Development Functions such as Clinical Operations, Clinical Data Science, Real-World Evidence, Regulatory Affairs, Patient Safety, Quality, and/or Medical Affairs (plus)
  • Excellent communication skills
