The Role

As a Registered Nurse within UVA Health'sWomen's and Children'sUnits, you will provide evidence-based care to patients across a variety of clinical settings. This role combines advanced clinical practice, patient advocacy, interdisciplinary collaboration, and compassionate support for patients and families during some of life's most critical moments.

Working within a fast-paced academic medical center, you will:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to women, infants, children, and adolescent patients with a wide range of healthcare needs.

• Assess patient conditions, develop individualized plans of care, and evaluate outcomes throughout hospitalization.

• Partner closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, pharmacists, care coordinators, and support staff.

• Support family-centered care by engaging patients and loved ones throughout the treatment journey.

• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, discharge planning, and ongoing care needs.

• Utilize critical thinking and sound clinical judgment when caring for medically complex patients.

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, evidence-based practice, shared governance, and professional development opportunities.
