This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

Job Profile:

Technician - Test & Launch Ops

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a highly skilled team of technicians and engineers, you will install, troubleshoot, maintain and operate Facility systems that support critical test operations. Your work will directly influence system readiness, facility reliability, and the overall success of test site execution.

Special Mentions:

  • Relocation provided

  • Travel expected up to 10% of the time

  • Shifts available: 1st or 2nd shift depending on team priorities

  • Operations span both shifts (6AM-2:30PM, 2PM-10:30PM) Technicians need to be available to support either shift pending team priorities

  • Interviews will include a technical assessment

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • The safety of you and your co-workers

  • Maintaining professional relationship with team members

  • Working around high pressure and cryogenic hazardous environment at heights

  • Cross training in electrical and mechanical trade

  • Configuring the facility for hazardous operations including operating manual vales and traversing 24 flights of stairs

  • maintain training, personal goals and team goals

  • Interacting and working alongside engineers to complete improvement projects

  • Learning and operating facility systems

Qualifications

  • Ability to closely follow diagrams such as AutoCad and P&ID drawings

  • Familiar with mechanical and electrical safety critical hardware

  • Demonstrate ability to work with electrical sensors and a have a good understanding of instrumentation calibration

  • Demonstrate ability to understand low and high voltage systems.

  • General knowledge of electrical hand tools and proper use including Fluke multimeter

  • Demonstrate ability to work with fluid systems including high pressure hydraulics, gaseous commodities and cryogenic liquid

  • Demonstrate ability to fabricate mechanical systems including valves, tubing and piping systems

  • Ability to travel if needed to support other Blue Origin locations

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, work at moderate heights, and climb ladders/stairs

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • +2 years of experience in industrial facility/systems or launch vehicle operation, integration or maintenance

  • Working knowledge of a variety of rocket propellants, including Liquid Oxygen, and cryogenic fuels

  • Experience with WAGO push-in termination blocks, or similar

  • Experience setting up, and pulling large amounts of low voltage wiring

  • Experience around high-pressure systems

  • Experience in tubing bending and pipe fitting

  • Experience working with remotely operated valves

  • Working as a personal contributor apart of a dynamic team

  • Knowledge in Microsoft applications

  • Understanding of 5s principles and tool control measures

  • Ability to transition between mechanical and electrical systems

  • Familiarization with computers

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
