Job Description

Provides leadership and support to assigned location(s), team(s), and employees. Actively engages with employee relations and works collaboratively with others to ensure objectives are aligned with location's strategic goals. Accountable for achieving the short and long-term goals and objectives of the assigned location(s). Monitor progress and create action plans as necessary in order to achieve strategic plans, budgets, and corporate goals. Relied upon to lead by example, maintain a positive employee relations environment, and to administer and enforce all company policies fairly and consistently.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead plant(s) to improved safety, quality, productivity and reduction of waste on a consistent and continual basis in each and every process.
  • P&L responsibility for assigned location(s), including the preparation and management of capital and operational budgets.
  • Provide guidance and direction to department managers regarding the continual improvement of operations for which they have ownership.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continual process improvement efforts in order to assure that all customer expectations (internal and external) are exceeded.
  • Work with company Sales Representatives from an operational perspective to maintain and acquire new customers for the organization.
  • Review and report on manufacturing activities, performances and results. Initiate team action to identify and remove problems with schedules, excessive costs, materials or other factors affecting quality, safety, service or productivity levels inconsistent with plant continual improvement efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations issued by OSHA, EPA, EEO, and other federal, state and local regulatory agencies.
  • Provide reports and feedback of plant performance to Corporate Staff, as required.
  • Maintain open communication with plant employees and Corporate Staff to improve safety, quality and productivity.
  • Make recommendations regarding hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, training and merit increases of Plant Personnel.
  • Work to improve the performance of employees through consistent and continual leadership in education and training programs.
  • Motivate staff in support of department objectives and timely and effective schedules to ensure production goals.
  • Perform other related duties and business related as required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Industrial Management, Engineering, or related field, preferred
  • Education may be substituted with advanced years of progressive Managerial and/or Executive experience working in a variable printing environment
  • At least 8 years diversified Management experience within a manufacturing environment is required - preferably in print, labels, and/or packaging
  • Exceptional team building and leadership abilities
  • Strong communication skills and customer service mindset
  • Quality and continuous improvement orientation
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to teach and mentor staff at all levels
  • Analytical ability and reporting skills

Additional Information

RRD's current salary range for this role is $156,700 to $250,700 / year. The salary range may be adjusted based on the applicable geographic location of the hired employee, and the range may change in the future. At RRD, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. Depending on the role, in addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program. RRD's benefit offerings include medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, disability insurance, 401(k) with company match, life insurance and other voluntary supplemental insurance coverages, plus parental leave, adoption assistance, tuition assistance and employer/partner discounts.
