Your Opportunity + Impact

The Project Surveyor coordinates and directs survey crews and office staff to ensure projects are completed accurately, on time, and within budget. This role collaborates closely with other departments and project team members, managing a specific discipline within multi-discipline projects, performing and reviewing boundary and Right of Way (ROW) calculations. The Project Surveyor ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate regulations and requirements, while overseeing technical quality, project deliverables, and adherence to project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs and reviews calculations and drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee technical aspects of assigned projects, ensuring completeness and high-quality deliverables.
  • Develop scopes, budgets, and fees for projects within the assigned discipline.
  • Assists department managers with project submittals, RFIs, and other deliverables to maintain project schedules.
  • Estimates work task time for proposals and project planning.
  • Reviews projects to ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains client communication and provides regular progress updates.
  • Ensures all work adheres to company QA/QC procedures and meets quality standards.
  • Identifies opportunities for new projects and assist in converting leads into business.
  • Prepares clear and concise written correspondence for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Builds and maintains a network of professional contacts through technical, civic, and industry organizations.
  • Represents the company and clients at public meetings, as needed.
  • Directs, mentors, and evaluates team members to support professional development and project performance.
  • Assists with internal training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge.

Education and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (required)
  • Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years' job-related experience such as boundary and ROW resolution experience required.
  • Licensure/Certification: Valid Professional Surveyor's License in OH, PA, WV, NY, OK, NC, and FL. Must have the ability to obtain additional licenses across the United States. Must possess valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Must have advanced knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, ORD, and/or similar Surveying software, experience with Terrestrial LiDAR and UAV preferred.
  • Demonstrates a strong desire to expand knowledge and take on new responsibilities within the field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet project deadlines effectively.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a project team.
