Job Summary:

TechSource is seeking an Engineering Technologist to support the Scorpius project in Los Alamos, New Mexico. This role works closely with engineers and technicians to support the development, assembly, installation, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of complex accelerator systems and equipment. The Engineering Technologist will help translate engineering requirements into field-ready work, resolve technical issues, and ensure changes are accurately communicated and documented.

Responsibilities:



  • Support engineers and technicians with assembly, installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Scorpius systems and equipment.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, and technical documentation to support field execution.
  • Assist with design updates, redlines, configuration changes, and as-built documentation based on field conditions and engineering direction.
  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, technicians, and other project teams to communicate technical changes and resolve issues.
  • Collect measurements, test data, inspection results, and other technical information to support engineering evaluations.
  • Support equipment readiness, work planning, system integration, and turnover activities.
  • Identify field issues and provide practical feedback to improve designs, procedures, manufacturability, installation, and maintainability.
  • Perform work in accordance with project procedures, quality requirements, and applicable safety standards.



Qualifications and Experience:



  • Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering technology, mechanical technology, electrical technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, testing, maintenance, construction, or technical field operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, controls, or integrated equipment systems preferred.
  • Experience documenting field changes, test results, equipment conditions, or technical work activities.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Experience in DOE, national laboratory, accelerator, high-hazard, or other highly regulated environments is preferred.


Travel:

Compensation & Benefits:

The expected base salary range for this role is $80,000 - $130,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
