Description

LAZ Parking is looking for a qualified individual to serve as a Crossing Guards in the city of Inglewood.

PART-TIME (Monday-Friday, excluding school breaks i.e. Holiday Breaks, Spring Breaks, Summer Breaks.)

Split Shift 7:00am-9:00am & 1pm-3pm

The LAZ Crossing Guard must be qualified candidates that are detail oriented, professional, ability to communicate effectively and in a positive manner with both adults & children. Read and interpret safety rules, maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Principal Job Duties:


  • Responsible for ensuring the safety of school children and other pedestrians crossing streets at designated city locations.
  • Direct the actions of children and traffic at street intersections and cross walk areas to assist in safe crossing.
  • Report hazardous conditions to supervisors and/or appropriate authorities such as traffic light malfunctions, suspicious activities or vehicles; and behavioral issues such as fighting;
  • Document frequent vehicle violations such as speeding and not stopping
  • Make safety presence known via City issued signs and identifiable uniforms at all times.
  • Related duties as required.

Education: High School graduate or equivalent.

Experience:


  • Experience working with children seniors and the community is desirable.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of traffic control experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in high volume special event supervision, highly desired.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience required.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)

Physical Demands:


  • Willingness to work in the elements - heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
  • Normal vision and hearing correctable with glasses and hearing aids.
