ABOUT THE ROLE

A Industrail Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing building systems and production equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role performs preventative maintenance, responds to work orders, and supports electrical, mechanical, and safety systems, including alarms and ventilation. The ideal candidate helps coordinate with production, maintains equipment performance standards, and keeps the maintenance shop clean and organized while ensuring all work meets health and safety requirements.

WHAT YOU'LL DO



  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on industrial production equipment and facility systems to support safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated equipment used in the precast concrete manufacturing process.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PMs) and inspections on production equipment, documenting findings and coordinating repairs with Production to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot motors, VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, switches, relays, contactors, and other electrical components.
  • Maintain and repair production equipment such as conveyors, mixers, pumps, compressors, material-handling equipment, and other plant machinery.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and complete repairs in a timely manner to reduce production interruptions and improve equipment reliability.
  • Perform basic electrical maintenance, including troubleshooting circuits, replacing components, and repairing electrical panels and controls within the scope of training and qualifications.
  • Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including cylinders, valves, hoses, pumps, and related components.
  • Assist with installation, setup, modification, and commissioning of production equipment and plant systems.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on heating, ventilation, plumbing, and other facility systems as needed.
  • Inspect and support maintenance of plant safety systems, including fire protection and alarm systems.
  • Complete maintenance work orders accurately and document repairs, parts used, and work performed.
  • Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend improvements to increase reliability, safety, and productivity.
  • Maintain tools, parts, and the maintenance shop in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and applicable electrical and equipment safety requirements.
  • Work closely with Production and other departments to prioritize maintenance activities and support operational goals.


WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

A strong Industrial Maintenance Technician is a hands-on, safety-focused professional who understands the demands of a fast-paced manufacturing environment and takes ownership of equipment reliability and production uptime.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and is comfortable working with industrial machinery, motors, controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, VFDs, and PLC-controlled equipment. They can quickly diagnose equipment issues, determine the appropriate repair, and work efficiently to return equipment to service while maintaining high standards for safety and quality.

This individual is self-motivated, dependable, team-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. They communicate effectively with Production, prioritize work based on operational needs, and take a proactive approach to preventive maintenance and continuous improvement.

IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE



  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or industrial maintenance training preferred.
  • Previous experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, Electro-Mechanical Technician, or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial production equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to troubleshoot VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, motors, sensors, relays, switches, and electrical control systems.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical failures involving bearings, gearboxes, motors, pumps, belts, chains, sprockets, shafts, and drive systems.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices, troubleshooting methods, and industrial maintenance procedures.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, electrical meters, diagnostic equipment, and precision measuring tools.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and troubleshooting diagrams.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and use precision measuring devices.
  • Understanding of industrial safety practices, including lockout/tagout (LOTO).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance needs while responding effectively to equipment breakdowns.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Experience maintaining equipment in precast concrete, heavy manufacturing, construction materials, aggregate, ready-mix, steel fabrication, or a similar industrial environment is highly desirable.




WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally and frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive hand/arm use
  • Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended shifts of up to 12 hours
  • Comfortable working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and man lifts frequently
  • Ability to work safely in a production or field environment with moderate to high exposure to safety risks and hazards
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather, and outdoors (Depending on location)
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required by the task, department, or work area.
