JUNIOR SHIP MASTER
LOCATION:San Diego CA

JOB STATUS:Full-time

CLEARANCE: Must hold or be eligible to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
CERTIFICATIONS:N/A
TRAVEL:25% travel: CONUS and OCONUS. Embarked at sea overnight.
SALARY RANGE: Estimated $85,000 + USD annually*

Astrionhas an exciting opportunity for a JuniorCaptainforthe USV Operations andSustainmentprogram supportingAstrion Navy Division.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • CITIZENSHIP: U.S. Citizenship.
  • CERTIFICATIONS: Current USCG MMC National Master Less Than 200 GRT, or higher.
  • Must have at least 3 years of sea-going experience in a Master position.
  • Proficiencywith Microsoft 365 Suite.
  • PASSPORT: Must havea valid passport.
  • Must have aTransportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)

*(MMC and Passport must have a minimum of 6 months of validityprior to placement, or proof of renewal in progress.)

PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Experienceoperatingwith Navy/Military units.
  • Experience withoperatingandmaintaining hull,mechanical and electrical systems:Main propulsion diesel engines,marine diesel generators,fueldeliverysystems, electric motors, pumps, 480/120 VAC and 24/12 VDC systems.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience working with shipyard facilities.
  • Experience withHelmConnectvessel management software.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pilot135' MDUSV'sin and out of port or at seawhenoperatingin amannedconfiguration.
  • Operate,maintainand monitor HM&E systems while in port and at sea (onboard and remotely).
  • Manage,maintain, and reportvessel maintenancetasksrecords.
  • Coordinatework efforts alongside variousGovernment agenciesand subcontractors,in port and abroad.
  • Assistwith planning shipyard maintenanceavailabilitiesand overhauls.
  • Determineparts, supplies, and material requirements for planned/unplanned maintenance andoverallProject support.
  • Comply withall operational Standard Operating Procedures, LOTO System,andAstrion/DoD safety policies,rulesand guidelines.
  • Assist with USV system development and payload integration.
  • Be an excellent people leader and communicator.
