Building Construction Observer Hanson Professional Services Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Observer in our Southwest Florida region. This position will be responsible for construction observation, quality control, and documentation of building construction projects. These projects include airport terminals, hangars, maintenance facilities, administrative buildings, cargo facilities, support buildings, parking structures, and other vertical construction and site development projects associated with airport infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, building codes, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements. This position requires travel to work assignments throughout Southwest and Central Florida. Standard work hours are not defined and may vary weekly depending on construction schedules. This is an hourly position where overtime is common. This position is in Southwest Florida, with our regional office located in Sarasota, FL. Physical Demands The position requires the ability to work at and easily maneuver throughout active construction sites and occupied airport facilities in various weather conditions. Duties may require extended periods of standing and walking, climbing ladders, navigating multi-level structures, traversing uneven terrain, accessing confined construction areas, and performing inspections in both indoor and outdoor environments. The ability to observe construction activities for prolonged periods and safely access various areas of a project site is required. This language clearly addresses the expectation for sustained standing while remaining consistent with typical construction inspection job descriptions.
