Summary:

The Vice President of Nonprofit Relationship Manager is accountable for establishing, leading and scaling Telhio Credit Union's dedicated nonprofit banking business line. This role combines strategic leadership, commercial banking, deposit generation, treasury management, lending, market development, community engagement and enterprise-wide collaboration to position Telhio as the preferred financial institution for nonprofit and mission-driven organizations.

The Vice President will own the business line's growth strategy and market presence while serving as Telhio's senior subject-matter expert and external ambassador to the nonprofit sector. Success will be measured through profitable deposit growth, quality loan production, treasury-management adoption, fee income, client acquisition, retention, cross-functional referrals, market share and the overall financial performance of the nonprofit banking portfolio.


Strategic and Business-Line Leadership

* Develop and execute Telhio's enterprise-wide Nonprofit Banking Strategy, including annual business plans, budgets, market priorities, growth targets and key performance indicators.

* Build, lead and continuously refine a differentiated Nonprofit Banking Division with specialized products, service standards, underwriting considerations and relationship-management practices.

* Serve as Telhio's internal authority on nonprofit finance, governance, revenue models, liquidity, reserves, philanthropy, capital planning and sector-specific risk.

* Advise executive leadership on pricing, product design, credit policy, operational support and resource requirements necessary to grow the business line responsibly and profitably.

* Identify emerging market opportunities and recommend new products, partnerships and service models designed specifically for nonprofit organizations.

* Manage all aspects of Telhio's Charitable Foundation, including grant management, distribution and follow up in conjunction with other Telhio senior managers and executive team.

* Build and lead Telhio's nonprofit suite of additional services for all nonprofit c-suite professionals, including education and consulting. Maintain, amend and augment product set as needed.


Revenue, Portfolio and Market Growth

* Own and achieve annual production and profitability goals for deposits, loans, treasury-management revenue, fee income, net interest income and total relationship value.

* Originate and expand relationships with charitable organizations, foundations, associations, faith-based institutions, schools, arts and cultural organizations, healthcare nonprofits, human-service agencies and other mission-driven entities.

* Generate sustainable deal flow through executive networks, board relationships, community foundations, chambers of commerce, professional advisers, centers of influence and existing Telhio members.

* Develop multi-product relationships that include operating accounts, money market and reserve balances, treasury services, merchant services, commercial credit, cards, wealth-management referrals and executive banking solutions.

* Create disciplined market-development pipelines, prospect strategies and relationship plans that maximize wallet share, retention and lifetime relationship profitability

Commercial Lending and Credit Leadership

* Identify, structure and originate nonprofit commercial lending opportunities, including working-capital lines, term loans, equipment financing and commercial real estate transactions.

* Prepare and present high-quality credit requests to the appropriate level of credit authority and negotiate transactions in accordance with Telhio's credit policy and risk appetite.

* Partner with Credit, Compliance, Loan Operations and Legal to facilitate underwriting, approval, documentation, closing, renewal and ongoing portfolio monitoring.

* Maintain sound portfolio quality through proactive relationship management, covenant monitoring, timely renewals, risk identification and resolution of delinquent or criticized assets

Treasury Management and Relationship Deepening

* Design and deliver comprehensive treasury-management solutions, including ACH origination, remote deposit, positive pay, fraud prevention, merchant processing, digital banking, lockbox and liquidity-management services.

* Conduct treasury and banking relationship reviews to identify operating efficiencies, reduce risk, improve cash visibility and deepen Telhio's role as the client's primary financial partner in tandem with colleagues.

* Coordinate cross-functional relationship teams to ensure each nonprofit receives a seamless, consultative and hightouch member experience.

* Drive measurable cross-sell penetration and referral outcomes across Business Services, Wealth Management, Retail Banking, Mortgage, Cards and other relevant Telhio lines of business.

Market Leadership and Ecosystem Development

* Serve as Telhio's public-facing ambassador to the nonprofit community through conferences, executive roundtables, seminars, board education, published thought leadership and strategic convenings.

* Build formal referral and programmatic partnerships with community foundations, nonprofit associations, chambers of commerce, CPA firms, attorneys, consultants, insurance professionals, payroll providers and technology companies.

* Develop executive-level communities and educational programming that increase Telhio's visibility, credibility, referral generation and client retention.

* Represent Telhio at high-value community, civic and nonprofit events and maintain an active leadership presence in the markets served.


Internal Leadership and Execution

* Lead cross-functional execution among Credit, Treasury Management, Commercial Operations, Finance, Marketing, Compliance, Risk, Wealth Management, Retail and Technology.

* Establish service standards, operating rhythms, sales-management practices, reporting dashboards and accountability systems for the Nonprofit Banking in conjunction with colleagues.

* Provide nonprofit-sector education and coaching to Telhio associates to improve prospecting, underwriting, referrals, member service and relationship expansion. Vice President, Nonprofit Banking

Performance will be evaluated against a balanced scorecard of financial, portfolio, market and strategic outcomes, including:

Total nonprofit deposits and net new deposit growth

Treasury-management revenue and fee income

New nonprofit relationships acquired

Cross-sell ratio and enterprise referral revenue

Portfolio credit quality and risk-adjusted return

Market share and brand visibility in the nonprofit sector

Member satisfaction and executive relationship quality

Commercial loan production and funded balances

Net interest income and total portfolio profitability

Relationship retention and primary-bank conversion

Pipeline quality, conversion rate and sales-cycle management

Strategic partnerships and qualified referral generation

Successful launch and completion of business-line initiatives


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree preferred; advanced degree in business, finance, public administration or a related field preferred.
  • 10 - 12 years of progressively responsible experience in commercial banking, nonprofit leadership, business development, financial services or strategic relationship management. Required
  • Demonstrated success developing executive-level relationships and generating revenue.
  • Experience leading a market, business line, portfolio, strategic initiative or cross-functional growth platform preferred.
  • Established network within the nonprofit, philanthropic, civic or professional services sectors strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a background check including Credit, Drug Screen, Criminal and Bondability


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Strategic planning, business development and financial acumen.

* Advanced knowledge of nonprofit business models, governance, fundraising, grants, restricted funds, cash flow, liquidity, reserves and capital planning.

* Ability to read and interpret financial statements, tax returns, Form 990 filings, budgets, forecasts, audits and commercial credit documents.

* Exceptional executive communication, public speaking, facilitation and relationship-management skills.

* Ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable recommendations for nonprofit executives and boards.

* Demonstrated ability to influence across organizational boundaries and lead through collaboration.

* Working knowledge of applicable banking, lending, compliance and fair-lending requirements.


TRAVEL AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position operates primarily in a professional office and client-facing environment and requires regular travel throughout Telhio's markets for prospect meetings, client reviews, community engagement, conferences, presentations and strategic partnership development. Estimated travel: 20%-30%, depending on market-development priorities.
