Job Summary

The Merchandiser is responsible for servicing assigned retail accounts in a safe, productive, and professional manner. This role ensures appropriate product inventory levels are maintained and that products are properly stocked, displayed, and rotated according to established standards. The Part-Time Merchandiser also supports sales initiatives by building positive customer relationships, identifying opportunities to improve product placement, and assisting with promotional programs and displays.

Job Responsibilities



  • Ensure products are properly stocked, displayed, maintained, and rotated according to established product rotation standards.
  • Monitor inventory and identify out-of-stock, damaged, or out-of-code products.
  • Minimize damaged and out-of-code products through proper inventory management and rotation practices.
  • Ensure displays and equipment are clean, properly maintained, in good working condition, and presented according to established standards.
  • Maintain required records and documentation in compliance with applicable company policies and state and federal regulations, including mileage, fuel purchases, training, and other required records.
  • Execute established merchandising processes, standards, and routines across assigned retail accounts.
  • Monitor competitor activity, including new product launches and pricing changes, and communicate relevant information to the appropriate sales or merchandising team members.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product placement and support growth of the product portfolio within assigned accounts.
  • Notify the appropriate sales representative of damaged, out-of-code, or out-of-stock products and opportunities for product pickup, exchange, or improved distribution.
  • Establish and maintain professional and positive relationships with retail managers and store personnel.
  • Collaborate with sales team members to support new programs, promotional initiatives, and large product displays.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and contribute to the sharing of best practices.
  • Represent the organization professionally while working in the field and interacting with customers.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must have access to a reliable personal vehicle for work purposes and maintain the minimum required insurance coverage.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with customers and retail personnel.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Proficiency using smartphones and mobile technology for work-related tasks.
  • Strong observational and analytical skills, particularly when assessing product inventory and merchandising conditions.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.


Education



  • High school diploma or GED required.


Work Experience



  • Previous merchandising, retail, sales, customer service, or field-based experience is preferred.
