Job Summary

The Class B CDL Driver is responsible for safely transporting plumbing supplies, including pipes, toilets, tubs, and fixtures, to customer locations. This role primarily involves driving an automatic box truck and providing professional customer service during deliveries. The position also includes limited warehouse support, such as rearranging loads and maintaining the cleanliness of the truck bed or work area. This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity for the right candidate.

Job Responsibilities



  • Safely operate an automatic Class B box truck to deliver materials to customer locations.
  • Deliver materials according to scheduled delivery times and assigned routes.
  • Validate delivery directions and use smartphone-based route tracking and delivery tools.
  • Load, secure, transport, and unload materials while ensuring loads remain within applicable weight limits.
  • Rearrange and secure loads as needed to ensure safe transportation.
  • Unload or assist with unloading materials at customer locations.
  • Ensure delivery tickets accompany materials and obtain customer signatures when required.
  • Verify that all delivered materials have been unloaded and placed at the appropriate delivery location.
  • Pick up customer returns and verify that returned products match applicable credit requests.
  • Pick up local purchase orders as assigned.
  • Secure and return packing lists and delivery documentation to the warehouse.
  • Review completed deliveries with the supervisor to ensure accuracy and completion.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Fuel the truck as necessary.
  • Promptly report vehicle problems, moving violations, accidents, and equipment defects to the supervisor.
  • Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and applicable safety requirements.
  • Provide professional and friendly customer service during all customer interactions.
  • Assist with warehouse duties as needed, including rearranging loads and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and uniform standards.
  • Support operational goals and complete other duties as assigned.
  • Work overtime as needed.


Job Requirements



  • At least 1 year of experience driving the class of vehicle assigned.
  • At least 1 year of Commercial Driver's License experience.
  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License required.
  • Valid state-issued self-certification designation of non-excepted interstate status and proof of certification required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to safely operate an automatic box truck.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Comfortable using a smartphone for route tracking and delivery-related tasks.
  • Ability to work in vehicles equipped with delivery monitoring cameras.
  • Ability to safely load, secure, and assist with unloading materials.
  • Ability to perform limited warehouse duties as needed.
  • Ability to comply with DOT regulations, safety requirements, and company policies.
  • Forklift experience is preferred.


Work Experience



  • At least 1 year of Class B vehicle driving experience required.
  • At least 1 year of CDL experience required.
  • Forklift experience is preferred.
