Job Summary

The Production Technician is responsible for assembling, wiring, fitting, and mounting electrical components, subassemblies, and standard fixed assemblies used in electrical control equipment. This role performs assembly activities required for testing and final inspection and uses established procedures and equipment to verify the electrical and mechanical integrity of completed units.

The Production Technician is expected to meet established productivity and quality standards while following manufacturing instructions, safety procedures, and quality requirements. This role works collaboratively with production team members and may support multiple functions based on production needs.

Job Responsibilities



  • Assemble panelboards, switchboards, electrical components, subassemblies, and related products according to customer specifications, electrical drawings, manufacturing schematics, and work instructions.
  • Perform electrical wiring and assembly using hand tools, power tools, wire strippers, pliers, and other required equipment.
  • Fit, mount, and secure electrical components and assemblies according to established specifications and procedures.
  • Prepare assembled products for testing and final inspection.
  • Inspect and test completed products to verify electrical and mechanical integrity and ensure conformance with applicable specifications and quality standards.
  • Follow established power-checking and testing procedures.
  • Maintain expected production progress and communicate part shortages, production issues, or other concerns to the appropriate team members.
  • Receive, organize, and put away materials as needed.
  • Prepare completed products for shipment.
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and work areas according to established 5S and safety guidelines.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and Lean initiatives by identifying and recommending opportunities to improve quality, work processes, efficiency, and environmental health and safety.
  • Cross-train and support other production functions based on business and production needs.
  • Participate in required site meetings, safety activities, and training programs.
  • Follow all established health, safety, quality, and operational procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • At least one year of experience in an assembly-related role using hand tools and/or power tools, or completion of a one-year technical school diploma from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in automotive repair, construction, carpentry, manufacturing, or another hands-on assembly environment may be considered.
  • Must currently reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the work location.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
  • Ability to follow manufacturing drawings, electrical drawings, schematics, work instructions, and written and verbal directions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats, including reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Ability to work effectively in a small team environment and adapt to changing production demands.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 35 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work overtime as required to support business needs.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting established quality and productivity standards.
  • Ability to actively follow and support workplace health and safety practices.
  • Ability to identify unsafe work practices and maintain awareness of safety requirements for self and team members.


Preferred Qualifications



  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience with CNC bus fabrication, press brakes, or related manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and power-flow information.
  • Experience using measuring tools and performing hardware assembly according to torque requirements and tolerances.
  • Experience using manual and electric hand tools, drill presses, press brakes, forklifts, jib cranes, templates, fixtures, hand carts, tape measures, storage and packaging materials, and required safety equipment.
