People * Customers * Trust Responsibilities: The Shift Manager will be the management representative on shift to assure safe operations, environmental compliance, quality assurance, cost control and productivity in all areas of the Paper Mill. The position will provide management insight, leadership and guidance in compliance with initiatives, policies and procedures and ensure effective and consistent communications across all shifts. The Shift Manager will be a resource to department managers and team and crew leaders. The Shift Manager will provide leadership/performance management coaching and will provide feedback to department superintendent/manager on overall performance. This position is an extension of department management and is a key contributor to department initiatives, projects, and mill-wide incentives. The Shift Manager will bring management attention and focus on nights and weekends. Basic Qualifications: BS in pulp and paper, engineering, or equivalent work experience in the pulp and paper industry. Two years of applicable work experience in paper mill operations is required. Solid paper mill manufacturing/production/maintenance background with the ability to learn new concepts and information is required. Organizational and interpersonal skills are required.
