Basic Function
HF Sinclair is seeking a Lead Mechanical Integrity Specialist to join our team at either our corporate headquarters or one of our seven refinery locations.Lead and drive the Mechanical Integrity (MI) program for Midstream assets across HF Sinclair, including pipelines, terminals, tank farms, pump stations, pressure equipment, piping systems, relief devices, loading facilities, and associated infrastructure. Responsible for developing, implementing, governing, and continuously improving MI programs to support safe, compliant, reliable, and cost-effective asset performance.Serve as the subject matter expert and program lead for Midstream Mechanical Integrity, providing strategic leadership, technical direction, risk-based decision support, and governance across operating locations. Collaborate with Operations, Reliability, Engineering, Pipeline Integrity, Corrosion, Regulatory Compliance, Capital Projects, and third-party service providers to establish standards, close program gaps, improve reliability, and ensure alignment with applicable federal, state, and industry regulations and standards.This position supports HF Sinclair's reliability transformation through enhanced asset integrity, risk reduction, regulatory compliance, standardization of MI processes, and long-range integrity planning throughout Midstream operations.
Job Duties
Experience
A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Mechanical Integrity, Pipeline Integrity, Asset Integrity Management, Reliability Engineering, Corrosion, inspection, or a related Midstream engineering discipline is required. Demonstrated experience leading programs, managing cross-functional initiatives, and influencing multi-site teams is preferred. Preferred Experience:
Education Level
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline such as Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Materials, or Corrosion Engineering is required. Mechanical Engineering or Corrosion Engineering preferred. Equivalent directly related experience may be considered where appropriate. Required Skills
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility
Function as the lead subject matter expert for Midstream Mechanical Integrity. Provide technical leadership and direction to Midstream Asset Integrity team. This can also include site engineers, inspectors, integrity specialists, operations personnel, contractors, and third-party service providers. May supervise employees, contractors, and consultants supporting integrity management programs. Lead cross-functional teams responsible for MI initiatives, audits, corrective actions, and strategic improvement efforts. Work Conditions
Office and plant based with up to 20% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, and out-of-doors environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, wet and/or oil contaminated conditions, at both below grade and elevated positions, and working in confined spaces.
