Mason Street Grill in downtown Milwaukee has become a local favorite for wood-grilled steaks, fresh seafood, handcrafted cocktails, and live jazz music. What you will be doing


  • Prepare and execute complex menu items while maintaining Mason Street Grill's standards for quality, consistency, presentation, and timing during service.

  • Lead assigned kitchen stations, coordinating production and workflow to ensure efficient execution in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

  • Monitor food quality, portion control, product usage, and preparation techniques while supporting kitchen standards and operational excellence.

  • Assist culinary leadership with training, coaching, and mentoring less experienced cooks while fostering a collaborative and professional kitchen culture.

  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations while maintaining clean, organized work areas and supporting overall kitchen operations.



Position Requirements


  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive culinary experience in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, steakhouse, or fine dining environment, with demonstrated expertise in multiple kitchen stations.

  • Advanced knowledge of food preparation techniques, knife skills, product handling, food safety, sanitation practices, and HACCP standards.

  • Proven ability to lead assigned stations independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and maintain exceptional quality and consistency during high-volume service periods.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to support, train, and mentor less experienced cooks while collaborating effectively with chefs and kitchen staff.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, work in varying temperature conditions, and maintain performance in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
