Job Description

Wax Component Injector - 4th Shift

Location: Painesville, OH
Shift: 4th Shift | 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Status: Hourly
Reports To: Department 610 Supervisor / Wax Process Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Wax Component Injector to join our manufacturing team in Painesville, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for producing high-quality wax patterns used in the investment casting process while ensuring equipment operates safely, efficiently, and within specifications.

The ideal candidate has manufacturing experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement. This position works closely with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production teams to support operational excellence and meet production goals.

Qualifications Education
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Equivalent manufacturing experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Experience
  • Minimum of one (1) year of manufacturing operator experience required.
  • Previous investment casting or foundry experience preferred.
  • Experience using hand tools, inspection tools, racks, tables, and other manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience with measuring and inspection equipment, including calipers, height stands, and bridge gauges.
  • Understanding of basic fluid dynamics concepts such as flow, pressure, and viscosity.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Inject wax patterns, gates, and sprues using light and heavy dies.
  • Operate wax injection presses and maintain proper wax levels in melting pots.
  • Inspect wax patterns, gating systems, and sprues to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Clean plugs and perform routine production-related maintenance tasks.
  • Follow all established procedures, engineering processes, and work instructions.
  • Assist Engineering and Maintenance teams in troubleshooting and process improvement activities.
  • Conduct engineering trials involving wax parameters, pins, cores, and related process variables.
  • Perform wax press calibration checks and assist with calibration activities.
  • Complete and document basic press inspections, including seals, filters, oil levels, and equipment condition.
  • Ensure Engineering Procedures (EPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are accurate and consistently followed.
  • Organize work areas to optimize quality, efficiency, and throughput.
  • Handle hazardous waste in accordance with MSDS requirements and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
