Serving as the civic center of the community, LCPL provides free and equal access to a full variety of library resources and innovative technologies to enhance the quality of life and meet the informational, educational, and cultural interests of the entire community. Job Summary Loudoun County Public Library (LCPL) is offering collaborative, energetic, community-oriented candidates the opportunity to become a full-time Teen Services Library Assistant at the Brambleton Library in Brambleton, VA. As a member of an enthusiastic team, Teen Services Library Assistants: Provide direct customer service in reference, reader's advisory, programming and circulation functions. Assist customers in the use of library resources and technologies. Work in a collaborative environment with other staff to complete daily tasks, conduct programs and coordinate outreach. Plan and lead programs for teens. Conduct outreach and create partnerships with community organizations. Successful candidates will be passionate, creative team players with excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills. Must possess strong multi-tasking, organizational and technology skills. All staff work in a collaborative environment to complete daily tasks, conduct programs and coordinate outreach. LCPL provides services seven (7) days a week. Work schedules vary and include weekends, evenings and holidays. Hiring salary is commensurate with experience. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma; two (2) years of prior experience providing direct customer service to the public; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with Microsoft Office products preferred. Loudoun County provides a language stipend for individuals who pass a language proficiency test.
