ABOUT THE ROLE
The GIS Analyst is responsible for the development, maintenance, and quality control of geospatial data and mapping products in support of high-voltage transmission line and right-of-way (ROW) construction projects. This role serves as a core contributor across project lifecycle phases - from preconstruction survey coordination through as-built deliverable production. - Geospatial Data Management & Mapping
- Develop and maintain GIS maps and databases for transmission line construction projects, including structure locations, ROW boundaries, access routes, environmental constraints, and project layers in ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online; continuously update and manage data to support field operations and ensure teams have access to current, reliable information
- Produce high-quality maps, exhibits, and spatial deliverables for internal and external project teams
- Perform spatial analysis including buffer analysis, route comparisons, conflict identification, and land ownership overlays
- Manage and QA/QC geospatial data from multiple sources including survey, LiDAR, aerial imagery, and CAD conversion
- Transmission Line & ROW Support
- Support permitting teams with accurate construction-specific mapping designs
- Coordinate with survey and engineering teams to integrate field data into GIS deliverables and ensure alignment with project design drawings
- Update GIS records to reflect field changes and design revisions throughout construction.
- Assist with as-built documentation and final record mapping for transmission line projects
- Field & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Maintain internal GIS users, including onboarding new users, managing permissions, and coordinating ArcGIS Online (AGO) map sharing to ensure appropriate access, data security, and consistent use across project teams
- Utilize ArcGIS Field Maps for data collection, field verification, and real-time updates during active construction
- Collaborate with Project Managers, ROW agents, Environmental staff, and Survey crews to ensure GIS deliverables meet project milestones
- Communicate with client GIS teams to align data standards, projections, and file format requirements
- Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location

ABOUT YOU
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of GIS experience with a focus on utility, transmission, or linear infrastructure projects
- Experience with coordinate systems, projections, and datum transformations
- PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience working for an EPC contractor, transmission contractor, or utility in a GIS capacity
- Familiarity with ArcGIS Online, and/or ArcGIS Field Maps for field data collection
- GISP certification or ESRI Technical Certification
- CAD experience (AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation) for cross-functional data exchange
Preferred Education
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field; combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degree
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro and/or ArcGIS Online (Esri platform)
- Proficiency with geodatabases, feature classes, and geoprocessing tools
- Working knowledge of transmission line construction processes, ROW fundamentals, and land ownership data
- Ability to read and interpret survey plats, legal descriptions, construction drawings, and one-line diagrams
- Strong attention to data accuracy and QA/QC discipline
- Knowledge of NERC/FERC transmission standards, NESC structure classifications, or utility asset management frameworks is preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written
- Ability to travel 25%

- Salary
- Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
