Description

Role

Install, upgrade, and maintain computer hardware and software. Coordinate technology needs with outsourced vendors for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Assist Information Systems Manager in researching, planning, and implementing new technologies to improve member access and staff efficiency.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

- Provides general support to all employees for information system issues.

- Maintains and upgrades the core data processing system and connected third party components (hardware/software).

- Becomes familiar and works with information system vendors' to operate, maintain, and upgrade various third party services, software solutions, and hardware platforms.

- Provides PC support including hardware maintenance, upgrades, software installation and configuration, troubleshooting, and internal repair or referral for external repair when internal repair is not feasible.

- Trains employees on PC fundamentals including operating system, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.

- Monitors helpdesk requests and responds accordingly.

- Generates reports from the information system.

- Maintains and administers the network.

- Backs up critical data files.

- Administers the core data processing system.

- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

- Up to one year of similar or related experience

- High School Diploma or equivalent

- Must be 18 years of age or older

- Extensive PC knowledge, including Microsoft Office skills

- Familiar with computer networking

Preferred Qualifications:

- Four year college degree in Computer Science or related field.

- Ability to work in a team environment.

- Excellent communication skills while using a pleasant tone and common conversational courtesies.

- Good interpersonal skills to include being courteous, diplomatic, and tactful.

- Previous experience within information systems environment at a financial institution.

- Good organizational skills.

- Ability to multitask when necessary.

Expectations

- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

- Ability to bend and lift items, up to 50 pounds, overhead.

- Ability to work extended or flexible hours to include nights, weekends, and on-call rotation.

- Return all messages within the same day received.

- To keep management and operational areas informed regarding information system service interruptions keeping interruptions to a minimum and scheduling down time during off-peak hours.

- To maintain all hardware in working order ensuring that all systems are functioning within the established parameters and ensure essential hardware is put back into service within 24 hours and non-essential hardware is put back into service within 1 week in the event of a failure.

- To keep credit union licensed software current by testing and updating software as new versions are released.

- To ensure the smooth and effective operations of the credit union's information systems and provide training and support for employees related to information systems.
