Overview Abacus Technology is seeking an Aeronautical Engineer Principal to provide technical support for the Command, Control, Communication, Intelligence and Networks (C3I&N) Directorate at Langley AFB. This is a full-time position. Responsibilities
Serves as an Aeronautical technical expert for the functional areas critical to a project or a portfolio of projects.
Qualifications 20+ years experience in aeronautical engineering including at least 10 years working in a DoD environment. Bachelor's degree in a related field. Possess the advanced knowledge, experience and recognized ability to be considered an expert in the technical/professional field, possess the ability to perform tasks and oversee the efforts of junior and journeyman personnel within the technical/professional discipline. Demonstrate advanced knowledge of technical/professional discipline as well as possess a comprehensive understanding and ability to apply associated standards, procedures and practices in their area of expertise. Experience in identifying engineering/acquisition strategy issues and proposing alternative solutions. Experience in assisting with strategic level issues and ability to work independently and as a team member under tight deadlines with changing priorities. Proven leadership, team building, strategic planning, and organizational development skills. Experience in preparing and presenting briefings for senior level reviews. Extensive experience initiating and managing high visibility aircraft programs. Knowledge of all aspects of Air Reserve Component Air Dominance platform operational requirements and roadmap planning. Able to manage the bed down of ARC emerging technology and advanced program requirements, conduct site surveys and ensure unit compliance with security requirements. Extensive experience with defense acquisition management processes in accordance with the DoD 5000 and variations such as JUON capabilities. Able to lead a project team in completing complex projects and mentoring junior workforce as needed. Experience and expertise in their domain, capability, or functional area, including the engineering principles, policies and practices required to support systems acquisition and the engineering documentation as defined in DoDI 5000.2. Knowledge of aeronautical engineering supporting multi-specialty teams to achieve results specified by program leadership in aircraft research, development, production, and lifecycle acquisition and sustainment activities. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance.
