Position Summary
This position will serve as Operations Manager (Business Officer 3) and will be responsible for strategic planning and clinical business development, providing operational and administrative leadership for contracts and grants, human resources, and recruitment for the Departments of Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology and Neurosurgery. This position is also responsible for management and reporting activities for all three departments. This position will work closely with the Associate Chair for Administration and department leadership in all departments.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Mid- to late-career with Master's and 2-4 yrs experience; OR Bachelor's and 3-5 yrs experience.

  • Ability to independently manage a diverse range of business functions within departments
  • Ability to research, analyze and resolve routine and unprecedented or non-routine issues within University and UNC Health environments
  • Excellent communication and dispute resolution skills
  • Strong administration background in an academic or health care setting
  • Ability to travel to our clinical sites as needed
