The Frame Shop Steel Fabricator is responsible for measuring, cutting, and shaping steel components according to engineering drawings and production specifications. This position operates fabrication equipment and tools to prepare materials for welding, assembly, and final production while ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency standards are met.

HERE'S WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work orders, and specifications.
  • Measure, mark, and lay out steel components for fabrication.
  • Grind, bevel, and prepare materials for welding and assembly.
  • Operate fabrication machinery, including band saw, drill presses, ironworkers, and Mill (non-DRO).
  • Inspect fabricated parts for dimensional accuracy and quality requirements.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Collaborate with welders and production personnel to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Ensure that all the required materials for fabrication are present.
  • Inspect all work to ensure the highest quality products are produced.
  • Ensure all safety and health standards are adhered to.
  • Offer ideas and methods to increase productivity.
  • Attend safety training as required.
  • Communicate regularly with Frame Shop Supervisor regarding issues, concerns and needs.
  • Other tasks as assigned by Shop Foreman/Production Manager

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • MIG/TIG welding is a plus but not required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of fabrication drawings.
  • Experience with various industrial equipment such as Bandsaws, Drill Press, Mill (non-DRO), Ironworker (punch), Grinders, Fork Truck, etc...
  • Proven track record regarding safety and high-volume production
  • Strong working knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations
  • Must be able to communicate verbally in English on a technical level. Must have demonstrated interpersonal skills.

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range:

The pay for this role is $22-$25/hr Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
