Job Description

The Thompson Center for Autism & Neurodevelopment is pleased to announce an opening for a Fiscal Assistant. This position works closely with the department's Fiscal Lead to support daily financial operations and ensure compliance with University fiscal policies and procedures.

The Thompson Center is a growing and collaborative organization comprised of faculty, staff, and students from the College of Education, College of Health Sciences, MU Health Care, and the School of Medicine. The Fiscal Assistant plays a key role in supporting the Center's financial processes and contributing to its mission of providing exceptional clinical care, research, education, and outreach services.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Process and monitor employee reimbursements and vendor invoice payments.
  • Complete monthly OneCard reconciliations and ensure timely submission of supporting documentation.
  • Purchase departmental supplies and coordinate procurement activities in accordance with University policies.
  • Prepare journal entries, correcting entries, and internal service transactions.
  • Reconcile non-grant accounts and investigate discrepancies as needed.
  • Assist with tracking and reporting professional development funds for faculty and staff.
  • Process, reconcile, and maintain documentation for research cash advances.
  • Prepare research participant payment vouchers and reconcile participant gift card distributions.
  • Assist with the creation, uploading, and registration of professional development and training opportunities within the University's Marketplace system.
  • Process cash and check deposits through University web applications and coordinate bank deposits as required.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation for audits and reporting purposes.
  • Provide general fiscal and administrative support to the department and assist with special projects as assigned.
Shift

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

An Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Leadership Approach:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with financial systems, account reconciliation, purchasing, or bookkeeping preferred.
Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $17.50 - $23.00 hourly
Grade: GGS - 007
