Under the general direction of EPI-CAL leadership, the Program Specialist will lead the Peer Support pathway team as part of the EPI-CAL Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC) evidence-based practice for early psychosis intervention for First Episode Psychosis program. Responsibilities include developing new and/or revising existing curriculum, toolkits, resources, and web materials, either independently or in collaboration with other subject matter experts (SMEs) via an integrated training development approach specifically in the area of the peer support service and role in an early psychosis treatment setting. The Program Specialist will also provide individual and group consultation services and technical assistance. Beyond curriculum development, consultation services and technical assistance, this position will establish and maintain professional relationships with state and county contacts, external project collaborators, and advisory committee members. As lead of the team, the individual in this position will work with leadership and project management to oversee and track technical contributions. The incumbent will be part of the Lived Experience Integration team and support with projects as such as the LEI Advisory Council, fidelity service user quality improvement, and others. Personal lived experience of psychosis and treatment for is an essential qualification to authentically represent this area within EPI-CAL, as well as personal experience/familiarity accessing mental health services, community resources, and public benefits that support individuals experiencing psychosis. The incumbent will act as the lead for the Peer Partner training team. A primary purpose of this project is to meaningfully integrate individuals with and voices of lived experience of psychosis into the early psychosis spaces of clinical care.
