Music Lab Technicians (Part time/Temporary)

Rutgers University Camden is seeking two music lab technicians. These positions will assist the department in maintenance and operations of various academic laboratory classrooms, including the sculpture lab, print lab and music labs. The duties of these positions vary, dependent on lab(s) overseen by the incumbent. Duties include, but are not limited to; - Operation of wood, plaster, and ceramics studios, where students and faculty engage in advanced fabrication and materials research; -Operation of recording studio, inventory, classroom/practice music technical equipment and production musical technical equipment; -Operation of print lab, including printers, presses and equipment These positions will function to give students and intimidation-free and safe learning environment, equipped with modern technologies in support of the curriculum, with which they can research, explore, and create through various materials, processes, and techniques

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position requires a fully on-site work arrangement and may be eligible for a compressed workweek or a flex workday schedule. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Requires a Bachelor's degree in a scientific/technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant laboratory technician or research study experience carrying out research protocols and tests, or other technical work may be substituted for the degree.

Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Also requires a minimum of three to five years of relevant professional experience in an administrative and/or supervisory function, excellent communication skills, and computer literacy. - OR - Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education/experience in the discipline. A master's degree in a specialized discipline may be required, particularly in research, project management or managerial positions. Also requires a minimum of five years experience and/or increasing functional responsibility in a leadership/managerial role. With a master's degree requirement, a minimum of three years of related experience is acceptable. Excellent communication skills and computer literacy.
