Glass Blower/ Glass Shop Technician

We are looking for a Glass Blower / Glass Shop Technician to join our production team and create precision glass components used in pH sensor manufacturing. Your hands-on glassworking expertise will help us deliver consistent, high-quality components in a specialized production environment.

What is the role about?

Do you have hands-on experience blowing, shaping, or forming glass using torches and heat? Can you consistently produce precise glass components while maintaining quality, consistency, and dimensional accuracy? Are you comfortable working independently with delicate materials, specialized glassworking tools, and detailed production instructions? In this hands-on manufacturing role, you will work within the Glass Shop to prepare, form, blow, process, and inspect precision glass components used in pH sensor production. Glass blowing is the critical skill for this position, with experience in scientific glass, laboratory glass, flame-working, lampworking, or similar glass fabrication highly valued.

Which tasks will you perform?

You will:

* Perform manual and machine-assisted glass preparation, including cutting, crack-off, fire polishing, flaring, constricting, and forming operations.

* Use gas torches safely to prepare, blow, shape, and process pH glass stems and related precision glass components.

* Perform glass blowing and related shaping operations with focus on consistency, quality, and dimensional accuracy.

* Read and follow work orders, drawings, routers, procedures, and work instructions.

* Use calipers, gauges, rulers, and other measuring tools to verify setups, dimensions, and finished-part quality.

* Visually inspect glass parts for cracks, flaws, surface defects, dimensional concerns, or other quality issues.

* Set up, operate, and support troubleshooting of Glass Shop tools, machines, and related production equipment.

* Follow production schedule priorities and support timely completion of work orders.

* Record production activity and complete required documentation accurately, including SAP transactions where applicable.

* Maintain a clean, safe, and organized Glass Shop work area.

* Follow all safety, PPE, ISO, quality, and documentation requirements.

* Support preventive maintenance activities and communicate equipment or process concerns to the Glass Shop Lead or Manager.

* Perform other related duties as assigned.

What do we expect from you?

You:

* Have demonstrated hands-on experience in glass blowing, flame-working, lampworking, scientific glass, laboratory glass, or similar glass fabrication.

* Can safely work with torches, heat, glass tubing, and delicate glass components

. Can produce consistent glass work with attention to detail and repeatability

* Can read and understand work instructions, drawings, and production documentation

* Can use basic measuring tools such as calipers, rulers, gauges, and scales.

* Bring strong hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and patience for precision glass work.

* Can identify visible glass defects, including cracks, chips, surface flaws, deformation, and dimensional variation.

* Can follow safety rules, PPE requirements, and quality procedures at all times.

* Can work independently after basic orientation and process-specific training and are willing to work overtime as production needs require.

* Ideally have experience in a production or manufacturing environment involving precision glass work

* Ideally have experience working with pH glass, sensor components, laboratory glassware, or small precision glass parts

* Ideally have experience with glass cutting, fire polishing, flaring, constricting, or bulb forming

* Have basic SAP or production order transaction experience, strong communication and teamwork skills, and ability to support continuous-improvement, 5S/6S, and quality improvement activities.

The listed range for this position is $27-$35 per hour but the actual package offered may vary depending on different factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation for this position would include other elements which include an annual nondiscretionary bonus.
