Engagement Type: Long-term contract Expected Duration: 12 to 18 months Work Arrangement: Primarily remote Position Overview Our client is seeking a hands-on Accounting Supervisor to support the accounting team during a significant automation initiative. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong Accounting Supervisor or Accounting Manager who can balance team oversight with day-to-day accounting responsibilities. The consultant will support the monthly close, contra-revenue accounting, rebate activity, SOX controls, payroll journal entries, and external audit requests. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting knowledge, practical ASC 606 experience, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced public company environment. Key Responsibilities Support and supervise the monthly accounting close, including a five-day close cycle Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules Manage contra-revenue accounting and rebate-related activity under ASC 606 Review rebate calculations, accruals, reconciliations, and related accounting entries Prepare and review payroll journal entries and associated account reconciliations Maintain and execute SOX controls and ensure appropriate supporting documentation Partner with external auditors to address audit requests and provide supporting schedules Identify opportunities to improve, standardize, and automate accounting processes Support the implementation and adoption of new accounting automation tools and workflows Review work completed by team members and provide hands-on accounting guidance Research and resolve accounting discrepancies in a timely manner Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, Payroll, Internal Audit, and other business partners Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline Strong experience as an Accounting Supervisor, Senior Accountant, or Accounting Manager Hands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations Experience with contra revenue, rebates, or other variable consideration under ASC 606 Working knowledge of SOX controls and audit documentation Experience supporting external audits Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to supervise accounting activities while remaining involved in daily accounting work Ability to work independently in a primarily remote environment Preferred Qualifications Experience with large-tier ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, MS Dynamics) Public company or similarly controlled environment experience Experience supporting accounting automation or process transformation initiatives Active CPA Why Consider This Opportunity?
