Start Date ASAP Contract 9402 Human Resources Salary Range TBD Posting Date 09/22/2026 Union No FLSA Status Exempt Shift Work Variable FT/PT Full-time Relocation No Travel Yes Job Summary: M1 Support Services' Director of Labor Relations is responsible for assisting the Vice President, Labor Relations and Employee Relations concerning the execution and administration of the Company's labor relations strategy across unionized programs, contracts, and locations. Reporting to the Vice President of Labor and Employee Relations, the Director of Labor Relations provides leadership and subject matter expertise in collective bargaining, collective bargaining agreement (CBA) administration, grievances, labor-management relations, and related workforce matters. The Director of Labor Relations works closely with operational leadership, program management, and corporate staff partners to promote consistent and compliant labor relations practices while supporting contract performance, workforce stability, and operational objectives. The position provides leadership and guidance to customers necessary in managing represented employees of the Company. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Labor Relations & Collective Bargaining * Assists the Vice President of Labor Relations and Employee Relations in the execution of the Company's labor relations strategy across assigned programs, contracts, and locations in alignment with business objectives, contract requirements, CBAs, and applicable laws. * Supports the Vice President, Labor Relations and Employee Relations in collective bargaining negotiations, including development of proposals, costing and analysis, bargaining strategy, final contract reviews, management briefings, and preparation of supporting documentation. * Provides CBA interpretation and guidance regarding negotiated language provisions and ensures consistent application and administration across represented operations. * Advises program leadership, corporate staff, and management regarding labor relations matters, bargaining obligations, past practices, management rights, and contractual requirements. * Develops and maintains productive labor-management relationships with union representatives and bargaining- unit leadership. * Monitors labor activity and identify emerging issues or trends that may affect workforce stability, contract performance, or Company operations. Grievances, Arbitrations & Dispute Resolution * Directs and oversees grievance administration across assigned programs and locations, including investigation, response development, settlement recommendations, and escalation. * Reviews grievance responses and ensure positions are consistent with applicable CBAs, Company policies, established precedents, and labor strategy. * Represents the Company, as assigned, in grievance meetings. * Evaluates grievance allegations and arbitration decisions and recommends actions to reduce recurring disputes and improve contract administration. Elm Street, Suite 101 * Maintains appropriate documentation and case records associated with grievances, arbitrations, negotiations, and other labor relations matters. * CBA Administration & Operational Support * Provides senior-level guidance regarding interpretation and application of collective bargaining agreements. * Partners with Operations and staff leadership on workforce actions involving hiring, discipline, termination, layoffs, reductions in force, seniority, bumping, transfers, promotions, scheduling, overtime, and other matters governed by applicable CBAs. * Supports implementation of negotiated wage, benefit, classification, premium, union dues, and other contractual changes. * Provides labor relations support as required concerning operational changes, consistent with CBA negotiated language. * Evaluates proposed operational changes for potential bargaining obligations or CBA impacts and coordinates appropriate labor relations actions. * Promotes consistent application of Company labor relations practices across programs while recognizing contract-specific requirements. Compliance & Risk Management * Ensures labor relations activities comply with applicable federal, state, and local labor laws, CBAs, Company policies, and contractual requirements. * Provides guidance concerning the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) and other laws and regulations affecting represented employees and labor-management relations. * Assists the Vice President of Labor Relations and Employee Relations regarding NLRB matters, arbitrations, litigation, agency proceedings, and other significant labor-related disputes. * Identifies potential labor relations risks and develops recommendations to mitigate legal, financial, contractual, and operational exposure. * Maintains appropriate confidentiality and exercises sound judgment when handling sensitive employee and labor relations information. Leadership & Organizational Partnership * Provides leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to program and staff professionals supporting unionized operations. * Serves as a senior labor relations advisor to program managers, operational leaders, and corporate staff. * Supports the Vice President of Labor Relations and Employee Relations with executive briefings, labor risk assessments, bargaining strategies, and other enterprise labor relations initiatives. * Training, Governance & Continuous Improvement * Develops and delivers training to managers, supervisors, and staff professionals regarding labor relations, CBA administration, grievance handling, discipline, and management responsibilities in represented environments. * Assists in developing and maintaining labor relations policies, procedures, disciplinary and grievance response templates. * Monitors grievance tracking, arbitrations, negotiations, contract expirations, bargaining obligations, and other labor and relations activities. * Analyzing labor relations trends necessary to make recommendations for continuous improvement. * Performs additional duties as assigned. Page 2 of 2 Qualifications and Experience: * Bachelor's degree in human resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field is required. * Minimum of 10 years of progressive labor relations experience, including substantial experience administering collective bargaining agreements and experience working directly with labor unions. * Minimum of 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred. * Demonstrated experience participating in or leading collective bargaining negotiations. * Demonstrated experience managing grievances, disciplinary matters, and other labor disputes. * Demonstrated ability to convince customers of an alternative approach to resolve sensitive issues. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to efficiently and effectively conduct workplace investigations and prepare detailed reports of findings necessary to support Company actions. * Experience supporting complex, multi-site, multi-state, or geographically dispersed operations. * Strong working knowledge of the National Labor Relations Act and other federal and state laws affecting labor- management relations. * Demonstrated ability to interpret complex CBA language and provide practical guidance to operational and corporate staff leadership. * Strong negotiation, conflict-resolution, analytical, and problem-solving skills. * Ability to manage multiple complex and sensitive matters simultaneously while meeting operational deadlines. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to handle confidential and employee-sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related business applications. Preferred Qualifications * Experience supporting government contracting, aerospace, defense, aviation, maintenance, logistics, or similarly regulated industries. * Experience supporting multiple collective bargaining agreements and relationships with multiple labor organizations. * Experience with Service Contract Act (SCA) environments and government contract transitions. * Experience supporting workforce transitions, contract startups, rebids, reductions in force, and other significant organizational changes. Working Conditions: * Office and field environment with periodic travel to Company program sites, bargaining locations, hearings, and other business locations. * May require extended or irregular hours during collective bargaining, grievance proceedings, arbitrations, contract transitions, labor disputes, or other time-sensitive matters. * Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods. Travel Requirements * Up to 25-40% travel, depending on collective bargaining activity, labor disputes, program requirements, and operational needs.
