Position Summary The Ammunition / HAZMAT / Environmental Technical Instructor provides instruction and technical expertise related to ammunition, fuel handling, hazardous materials, environmental compliance, and associated Army logistics procedures. Primary Responsibilities Teach the Ammunition Fuel Handlers Certification Safety Course or successor training required by the Government. Train personnel on ammunition, fuel, POL, hazardous-material, and hazardous-waste policies and procedures. Support Ammunition Supply Point (ASP), POL, HAZMAT, HM/HW, and related logistics activities. Provide technical assistance related to Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations hazardous-material requirements. Support SAVs and onsite assistance involving ammunition, fuel, hazardous-material, or environmental operations. Assist Government personnel with applicable inspection activities. Maintain current knowledge of Army, installation, DOT, environmental, ammunition, fuel, and hazardous-material requirements applicable to assigned training. Support high-volume classroom instruction and large student groups when required. Cross-train in related supply, movement, or maintenance functions where qualified. Prepare or contribute to training records, briefings, trend reports, and other required products. Required Qualifications Minimum three years of Army ammunition, POL/fuel, HAZMAT, environmental, transportation, or directly related logistics experience. Working knowledge of 49 CFR hazardous-material requirements applicable to the position. Strong knowledge of ammunition/fuel handling, ASP/POL operations, hazardous-material procedures, and environmental compliance. Appropriate certifications or credentials required by the applicable training curriculum and final contract requirements. Demonstrated ability to teach adult learners, including larger classroom groups. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications used for reports, presentations, and training products. Preferred Qualifications Prior ammunition handler, fuel handler, HAZMAT certifier/instructor, environmental, transportation, or comparable experience. IATA/ICAO Dangerous Goods, 49 CFR, OSHA, or comparable recognized HAZMAT training/certification. SAV, COMET, inspection-support, or unit-readiness experience. Graduate of ABIC, FIFC, CTC, or equivalent DoD/TRADOC instructor training. Cross-functional supply, movement, or maintenance experience. Active Secret eligibility/clearance. Security and Installation Access Active Secret eligibility/clearance is anticipated to be required for onsite personnel at contract start, subject to final Government requirements. The selected candidate must also be able to satisfy installation-access, background-investigation, CAC, and Government information-system access requirements applicable to the position. Work Location and Schedule Work will primarily be performed at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia. *This Position is Contingent Upon Award.
