Rist Institute Program Assistant

General Summary of Position:

The Program Assistant supports and coordinates a range of initiatives administered by the Rist Institute for Sustainability and Energy. Reporting to the Program Manager, the position provides administrative and programmatic support across the Institute's portfolio and may take primary responsibility for coordinating assigned projects or programs. The Program Assistant helps plan and implement activities, manage communications and logistics, engage participants and partners, track progress and deliverables, and support reporting and financial administration. The position works with university staff, faculty, students, community partners, government agencies, and external organizations. Assignments may shift based on Institute priorities, funding, and program needs.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and one to three years of relevant experience in program coordination, project support, community engagement, higher education, or a related area.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple programs, projects, events, trainings, or participant-based initiatives while managing competing activities and deadlines.
• Strong organizational, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and collaborate with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Additional Considerations:

Technology Skills Required

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience maintaining program records or tracking data.

This position is full-time, benefited and in the Grants & Contracts union in grade P14. Anticipated salary based on qualifications within the range with minimum: $50,359, 25th quartile: $56,654 and midpoint: $62,949.

This position is contingent upon funding. The initial appointment will be until December 2027 contingent upon productivity, successful performance, and the availability of funding with the potential to extend based on these contingencies.
