Senior Business Intelligence Specialist - Center for Child Well Being

The Center for Child Well-Being, housed within the Department of Psychiatry in the University of Missouri School of Medicine, seeks a Senior Business Intelligence Specialist to support our Center and programmatic-level impact through our Data, Systems, and Evaluation domain.

The ideal candidate is a data professional who cares about the people behind the metrics and the impact of the programs they work with. The candidate will be able to translate technical expertise into practical insights for grant-funded community programs. The candidate will be comfortable helping colleagues build understanding and application of data, communicating findings clearly, and working collaboratively with program teams to solve problems together. They will be growth-oriented and look for ways data can support the team's efficiency and help move program goals forward.

Experience and technical skill with some of the following is preferred, though candidates need not have expertise in all areas:

- data analysis tools (e.g., R, Python, SPSS, SAS)

- data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)

- data collection platforms (e.g., REDCap or other survey tools)

- web UI/UX experience

- experience with social or human service organizations, particularly in systems or program management

This position requires the ability to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining accurate documentation, timely follow-through, and a high level of service. A strong understanding of data structures, cleaning, and validation is essential.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Provide technical assistance and guidance on data collection processes, tools, and best practice. Including development of user guides and training materials.
• Partner with program staff to assess data needs and translate program goals into effective data collection systems.
• Perform ongoing system maintenance, including data cleaning, validation, and management, and help modify data systems as needs change.
• Support website management, including page and resource development, under the guidance of the supervisor.
• Analyze data sets to identify trends, outcomes, and areas for program improvement.
• Help translate data findings into actionable insights that support program leads and leadership's decision-making.
• Support design and implementation of program evaluation plans, providing technical assistance as needed.
• Apply appropriate quantitative and qualitative methods to help assess program effectiveness and impact and contribute to evaluation elements of reports.
• Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations that translate data into clear narratives for stakeholders.
• Support data quality monitoring across programs, including validation, auditing, and quality improvement efforts.
• Help maintain documentation related to data governance, standard operating procedures, and compliance, under supervisor guidance.
• Support a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the Center.
• Other duties as assigned.

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Occasional nights and weekends

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is necessary

Years of Experience: Experience with some of the following is preferred, though candidates need not have expertise in all areas: data analysis tools (e.g., R, Python, SPSS, SAS), data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI), and data collection platforms (e.g., REDCap or survey tools). A strong understanding of data structures, cleaning, and validation is important. Prior web UI/UX experience and experience with social or human service organizations are both a plus.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000 annually
Grade: GGS - 010
