Essential Job Duties	NC State Dining provides campus-wide food services to students, staff, and faculty on the North Carolina State University Campus. NC State Dining operates 10 cafes, 3 food courts, 6 dining halls, 4 markets, 1 restaurant, vending, a nutritional counseling service, and a catering department. The department employs approximately 1000 temporary and student employees and approximately 190 permanent EHRA and SHRA employees. NC State Dining and Waste Reduction & Recycling are seeking a dedicated Project Liaison to support the rollout of Oscar Sort-an AI-powered smart recycling assistant that retrofits to existing waste bins to visually guide real-time sorting and automate waste analytics. In this role, you will act as the primary operational link between Campus Dining, Waste Reduction & Recycling, campus stakeholders, and the system vendor (Intuitive AI). Your main focus will be overseeing system readiness, troubleshooting visual recognition and software bugs, registering campus packaging, and helping drive student engagement. Essential functions and responsibilities include but are not limited to: System Testing & Bug Resolution: Serve as the boots-on-the-ground lead for identifying visual recognition, hardware, or software errors with the Oscar Sort units. Work directly with the Intuitive AI vendor team to report, log, and resolve bugs promptly. Item & Packaging Registration: Audit campus dining items (containers, cups, lids, food packaging, and organics) to ensure all relevant items are properly scanned, cataloged, and registered within the Oscar AI visual recognition system. Deployment Readiness: Conduct pre-deployment checks to ensure Oscar units are correctly mounted, calibrated to campus recycling guidelines, connected to networks, and ready for daily operations. Peer Outreach & Tabling Coordination: Organize, train, and schedule student ambassadors for campus tabling events. Coordinate live demonstrations showing students how Oscar's real-time AI nudges work (e.g., separating cup sleeves, emptying liquids, or sorting organics). Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the direct operational bridge between Dining staff, Waste Reduction & Recycling teams, and the student body, gathering feedback on how the units interact with students in high-traffic dining locations. Data & Analytics Tracking: Review initial waste analytics and sorting accuracy data provided by the Oscar platform to share user experience feedback and help optimize waste diversion strategies.

Work Schedule	Flexible - anticipated hours will range from 20-25 hours per week

Minimum Experience/Education	High School Diploma or equivalent Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work will also be considered. Experience in a similar capacity.
Department Required Skills	Strong communication and leadership skills. Interest in campus sustainability, AI technology, or operational logistics. Detail-oriented mindset with a natural knack for troubleshooting tech/hardware glitches. Ability to work independently and collaborate with both campus staff and external software vendors.
