Environmental, Health, & Safety Intern

The
Environmental Health & Safety Intern's main responsibility is to ensure
that the day to day environmental and safety activities are being completed per
the site Environmental Health and Safety Plan. This position will also assist in all aspects of safety and environmental
compliance and company training programs.

Job Summary

• Provides support to Site or Regional EHS Manager.
• Attends the monthly facility safety committee meetings.
• Helps complete incident investigations and understands differences of near misses and first aides.
• Practices environmental compliance through disposal arrangement, hazardous waste records, wastewater reports, storm water plan, chemical usage reports, air quality reporting, solid waste disposal, and fire department business plan.
• Demonstrates site safety program throughout the facility.
• Collects and analyze EHS data to determine validity and quality and reports out to Site or Regional EHS Manager.
• Provides EHS training and orientation to new employees and other employees as needed.
• Assists in ensuring safety inspections are completed and track corrective actions to completion.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

• Current student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in EHS, Engineering, or another related function.
• Great computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint, and ability to navigate ERPs.
• Team-oriented with a continuous improvement outlook.
• Must have strong initiative and be a self-starter.
• Able to prioritize projects and tasks.
• Ability to work independently and a good attention to detail

Pay Rate: $21.00/hour
