Bechtel's U.S. Summer Internship Program provides students with an opportunity to gain meaningful, hands-on experience while working alongside industry professionals on projects and initiatives that impact communities around the world. The program is a structured 10-week summer experience, typically held from mid-June through mid-August, designed to help students translate classroom learning into practical application through challenging assignments, professional development activities, and exposure to Bechtel's global business.

Interns are treated as valuable members of the team and are assigned work that contributes directly to business objectives. Throughout the internship, participants are encouraged to build technical and professional skills, expand their industry knowledge, and develop relationships with leaders and peers across the organization.

The internship experience combines real project work, professional development programming, networking opportunities, executive speaker sessions, mentorship, and end-of-program presentations to help students gain a deeper understanding of their chosen career path while exploring future opportunities with Bechtel.

Opportunities are available across Bechtel's Global Business Units (GBU) and functional organizations. Final assignment location, business unit placement, and specific responsibilities will be determined based on business needs, candidate qualifications, and organizational priorities.

Assignments may be located in a project field environment, regional office, or corporate office setting depending on business needs. Successful candidates should be flexible and willing to work in a variety of locations and environments in support of Bechtel's projects and business operations. This may include opportunities at construction sites, project execution offices, or functional and corporate service organizations.

Bechtel Supply Chain offers talented individuals who have initiative, integrity, and a determination to tackle the most complex supply chain challenges of supporting projects located around the world, utilizing global suppliers and contractors, and managing logistics to connect the two.

Each year, Bechtel's Supply Chain teams buy approximately $18 billions of goods and services from suppliers in more than 50 countries. Once purchased, those good and services must be delivered to projects worldwide often to some of the most remote and challenging locations.

Supply Chain Interns typically perform functions that include work planning, sourcing, supplying, delivering, and storing procured equipment and materials to Bechtel's global projects. Interns typically work in the following areas of Supply Chain:

• Procurement/Purchasing
• Contracts & Subcontracts
• Inventory & Warehouse Management
• Logistics
• Integrated Materials Management

The various procurement and contracts activities demand detail-oriented individuals with multifaced skills, flexibility, enthusiasm for individual and team tasks, and knowledge of supply chain functions, contract terms, and legal requirements.

Typical Activities

• Provide expertise in the qualification, evaluation, negotiation, and selection of global suppliers and contractors
• Manage purchase orders and subcontracts to ensure satisfactory performance and adherence to the terms and conditions
• Manage complex logistics efforts in the transportation, receipt, and storage of equipment and material that originate in all parts of the world
• Build supplier and contractor relationships
• Engage with category management teams that provide technical and commercial intelligence on the supply chain to our project teams
• Perform materials management to ensure material is properly planned, scheduled, and received for project use

General Job Duties

• Performing tasks involved in the formulation and administration of purchase orders
• Preparing service contracts that maps out project scope, schedule, and terms
• Contacting suppliers to obtain timely submission of engineering data and other deliverables
• Coordinating shipments with requisite internal and external entities of materials and equipment
• Reviewing material requisitions from a Supplier Quality perspective

• Currently enrolled in a four-year bachelor's degree program in Supply Chain Management, Production and Operations Management, or Logistics Management from an accredited college or university
• Completed at least one year of undergraduate studies in one of the above fields
• Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the U.S. without sponsorship

• Previous co-op or internship experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
