Bechtel's U.S. Summer Internship Program provides students with an opportunity to gain meaningful, hands-on experience while working alongside industry professionals on projects and initiatives that impact communities around the world. The program is a structured10-week summer experience, typically held from mid-June through mid-August, designed to help students translate classroom learning into practical application through challenging assignments, professional development activities, and exposure to Bechtel's global business.

Interns are treated as valuable members of the team and are assigned work that contributes directly to business objectives. Throughout the internship, participants are encouraged to build technical and professional skills, expand their industry knowledge, and develop relationships with leaders and peers across the organization.

The internship experience combines real project work, professional development programming, networking opportunities, executive speaker sessions, mentorship, and end-of-program presentations to help students gain a deeper understanding of their chosen career path while exploring future opportunities with Bechtel.

Opportunities are available across Bechtel's Global Business Units (GBU) and functional organizations. Final assignment location, business unit placement, and specific responsibilities will be determined based on business needs, candidate qualifications, and organizational priorities.

Assignments may be located in a project field environment, regional office, or corporate office setting depending on business needs. Successful candidates should be flexible and willing to work in a variety of locations and environments in support of Bechtel's projects and business operations. This may include opportunities at construction sites, project execution offices, or functional and corporate service organizations.

Industrial/Systems Engineering interns work with multi-disciplinary engineers to provide support to the project's systems engineering team throughout the lifecycle of the project (design through commissioning testing).

Systems Engineering interns may be responsible for:

• Assisting in developing functional/system analysis to define facility/system design requirements.
• Assisting in establishing the means of verifying requirements implementation, including acceptance criteria.
• Assisting in the preparation of system and facility design criteria documents.
• Supporting system-level design verification, requirements verification, test requirements specification, and requirements flow down and traceability.
• Assisting in the preparation of assessments to validate and verify implementation and traceability of requirements into design.
• Participating in technical discussions to resolve system design issues.
• Researching and documenting system operations and limits from the review of design and basis documents and from discussions with system designers.
• Performing model-based systems engineering using commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) automation tools (e.g.,IBMRationale Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System (DOORS) or Innoslate by Spec Innovations).

Basic Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a four-year Bachelor of Science degree program in Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Nuclear Engineering at an accredited college or university.
• Completed at least one year ofundergraduatestudies in one of the above fields.
• Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the US without visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
• Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project jobsites.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Master of Science degree program in Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Nuclear Engineering at an accredited college or university.
• Completed relevant coursework with a strong GPA.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
