Predator (Producer + Editor), Social Creative

Aquent Studios - Embedded with Qualcomm

San Diego, CA | Full-Time / W2 | Some Travel Expected

About the Role

Aquent Studios is seeking a Preditor - part producer, part videographer, part editor - who can take a piece of social content from concept to publish-ready without handing it off along the way. This role supports social content for a leading silicon chip company, so you'll be translating technical, engineering-driven subject matter (chips, hardware, performance, innovation) into content that feels native and compelling on TikTok, Reels, Shorts, and other social platforms - fast, sound-on, thumb-stopping in the first second, without dumbing down or misrepresenting the tech.

This isn't a traditional broadcast-editing role. You're shooting, producing, and editing - one person owning the full arc from concept to finished asset, working quickly and iterating based on what's performing.

What You'll Do

  • Shoot original short-form video content (product features, talking heads, event/keynote coverage, b-roll) - this role is hands-on-camera, not just post-production
  • Develop and pitch social content ideas that make complex technical/product stories (chip architecture, performance benchmarks, product launches, developer/enterprise use cases) land with a broad social audience
  • Edit content natively for social - pacing, captions, sound design, trending audio, hooks - not just repurposed long-form or corporate cuts
  • Turn around content fast, often same-day or next-day, to stay relevant to product news cycles, launches, and trends
  • Monitor platform performance and iterate format/style based on what's resonating
  • Stay current on platform-specific best practices (aspect ratios, caption styles, algorithm shifts, trending formats/sounds)
  • Collaborate with social strategy, marketing, and technical/product stakeholders to keep content accurate while still feeling native to social
  • Manage your own production workflow end to end - shoot, edit, and ship - with minimal oversight

What You'll Need

  • Proven experience shooting, producing, and editing short-form social video (all three, not just one or two)
  • Own or be comfortable operating camera/audio gear suited to fast-turnaround social shoots
  • Comfort working with or translating technical/tech-industry subject matter for a general audience - semiconductor, hardware, or broader consumer tech experience strongly preferred
  • Fluency in editing tools (Premiere, CapCut, Adobe Express, or similar) and comfort working fast
  • Strong eye for what performs on social - hooks, pacing, trends - not just technical polish
  • Ability to self-direct: shoot, edit, and ship without a large crew or long approval chain
  • A portfolio or reel of native social content you've shot and produced start to finish, ideally including tech, product, or B2B subject matter

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with a chip, hardware, or enterprise tech brand
  • Experience covering product launches, keynotes, or developer events
  • Basic motion graphics or animation skills
  • Experience working within a brand's voice/guidelines while still making things feel native and unpolished-on-purpose
