Job Purpose

The Freight & Logistics Engineer supports the Global Freight & Logistics roadmap by improving freight visibility, analytics, carrier performance, lane optimization, routing guide compliance, and regional execution across the Americas. This role translates freight data into actions that reduce cost, improve service, strengthen governance, and support continuous improvement. This persson will also be responsible for Americas freight analytics, visibility, performance tracking, and optimization across road, parcel, LTL/FTL, air, ocean, and intermodal. The role supports House of Freight governance, global freight standards, carrier governance, sourcing, reporting discipline, and regional execution.

Ideally, this person could be located in Greater Tuscon or Richmond, IN with travel to various sites in the US.

Key Responsibilities

• Build freight analytics, dashboards, and KPI reporting for spend, lane, carrier, mode, service, accessorials, premium freight, and compliance.
• Ensure freight data accuracy across TMS, ERP, BI tools, carrier portals, freight audit sources, and reporting standards.
• Identify and execute optimization opportunities, including lane consolidation, mode shift, load planning, accessorial reduction, routing guide compliance, and premium freight reduction.
• Develop savings business cases, track implementation, validate financial impact, and document results against the roadmap.
• Monitor carrier performance through scorecards, SLAs, QBR support, tender acceptance, OTD/OTIF, claims, invoice accuracy, and corrective actions.
• Support carrier sourcing, RFQ/RFP analysis, lane profiles, rate benchmarks, award recommendations, routing guides, playbooks, and process documentation.
• Partner with Operations, Manufacturing, Distribution Centers, Finance, Procurement, Customer Service, Trade Compliance, Digital/IT, and carriers to improve cost, service, visibility, and governance.
• Monitor freight risk, compliance, invoice accuracy, Incoterms/customs handoffs, claims, disruptions, and ESG-related freight visibility where data is available.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business, Operations, Finance, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in freight, logistics, transportation, supply chain analytics, or procurement operations.
• Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to build freight cost models, KPI dashboards, and spend analyses.
• Experience with BI/reporting tools and advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Knowledge of freight modes, cost structures, Incoterms, carrier economics, and supply chain fundamentals.
• Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA preferred).
• Knowledge of freight audit, invoice validation, and rate management processes.
• Experience supporting or executing carrier RFQ/RFP processes.
• Familiarity with freight optimization methodologies: load planning, mode shift, lane consolidation, network design.

• Improved freight spend visibility, dashboard coverage, and data quality across Americas lanes, modes, carriers, plants, and business units.
• Validated savings from freight cost, premium freight, accessorial leakage, and routing guide compliance improvements.
• Improved carrier SLA performance, including OTD, OTIF, tender acceptance, claims, invoice accuracy, and transit performance.
• Adoption of freight playbooks, routing guides, global standards, reporting controls, and regional execution discipline.

Applicants can expect a base compensation range of $75,000.00 to $100,000.00, plus benefits and additional incentives based on the level of the role. This is the reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting. Belden may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law, and commensurate with the applicant's experience, qualifications, and geographical location.
