ACADEMIC GRANTS COORDINATOR

Primary Function: Under the supervision of the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, and in cooperation with the academic deans, faculty, program directors, and academic advisors in Perkins-Funded programs, the Academic Grants Coordinator will work to manage the academic elements of grant programs, with a particular focus (80%) on the Perkins Grant program, so experience administering the Perkins Grant is a must for the role. The Academic Grants Coordinator will focus on increasing attainment of degrees, certificates, and other industry-recognized credentials and better prepare targeted populations, as identified in the Perkins V guidelines (and other grant programs), and other beneficiaries, for high-wage, high-skill employment.

They will coordinate all grant activities for PA Department of Education (PDE) approved CTE programs and will provide leadership in the implementation of the PDE's Bureau of Career and Technical Education (BCTE) grant guidelines with the goal of student success and continuous improvement of NCC's CTE programs and CTE secondary partnerships.

Location: Flexibility for a hybrid position may be available; must be able to regularly commute to the Main NCC campus in Bethlehem, PA.

Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate needs analysis, market surveys, graduate survey and other Perkins V related research to identify viable and sustainable secondary-to-postsecondary articulation agreements and majors to expand CTE pathways to NCC.

2. Coordinate bi-annual comprehensive local needs assessment (CNLA) and quarterly stakeholder advisory meetings, including but not limited to sustaining a Perkins Stakeholder Group of K12, college/universities, business & community organizations, faculty, students, and parents.

3. Coordinate quarterly stakeholder meetings; listen to staff and stakeholders about needs that could be funded by Perkins and other grant programs, and advocate/follow-through to ensure these needs were met and are working.

4. Coordinate with the Academic and Student Affairs division to promote PDE-sponsored training.

5. Coordinate the development, implementation, and renewal of SOAR agreements, review of task lists, and other CTE local articulation.

6. Coordinate with Prior Learning Assessment to ensure secondary student awareness of SOAR and local agreements, articulated college credits are processed and recorded at NCC, and reported accurately to PDE by Institutional Effectiveness.

7. Coordinate CTE program approval through the CATS and complete annual updates.

8. Monitor the grant assurances to ensure compliance. Collect documents to include NCC's N drive under grant name. Work with Grants Department to track progress and implementation of grant programs.

9. Develop, write, and implement the Perkins Local Plan (application) and Annual Performance Report.

10. Working with staff and faculty to identify programs that would align with the goals and requirements of the Perkins grant and other grant programs.

11. Review NCC's capital list with Grants Accountant for items related to Perkins programs for funding. Reach out to Deans, program managers and faculty in Perkins programs for other items such as professional development to include on the Perkins grant. Receive spending updates from Grants Accountant to ensure budget lines are being spent. Follow up as needed and assist with the Perkins budget revision. Performs other duties as may be assigned.

Organizational Relationships: (1) Responsible to the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs for performance of assigned responsibilities. (2) Work cooperatively with members of the faculty and administrative team and the Director of Grants. (3) Relate role to College goals and mission attainment.

Performance Standards: Performance in this position is considered satisfactory when: (1) mutually agreed upon objectives have been attained within a specified time frame; (2) responsibilities of the

position have been carried out at a level consistent with performance objectives; (3) effective cooperative relationships exist with other members of the administrative team, faculty, students, employers and other members of the community.

Qualifications:

(1) Education: (a) attainment of bachelor's degree preferred in an appropriate discipline from a Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) approved Institutional Accreditor college, or equivalent knowledge and experience in career and technical education.

(2) Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: (a) knowledge of local labor market; (b) knowledge of employment needs, basic job training requirements, and changing trends in the employment field; (c) ability to function effectively as a member of an administrative team; (d) ability to organize and work effectively with large and small groups; (e) ability to work effectively with students, faculty, administrators, and employers; (f) ability to adapt to differences and changes in program, colleagues, students, and community characteristics, (h) excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organizational and presentation skills; (i) ability to work with and relate to community constituencies; (j) demonstrated proficiency in the use of technology; (k) ability to work with diverse populations.

(3) Experience: (a) three or more years of experience in community colleges workforce programs or career and technical education at the secondary or post-secondary levels; (b) demonstrated competency to serve in an administrative capacity; (c) experience administering the Perkins grant required; (d) other experience working with government grant programs preferred.
