As a Security Officer Commercial Facility Full Time Access Control Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an unarmed Security Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. You will help create a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff while reporting concerns and responding to situations with professionalism. Pay Rate: $17.25 - $17.50 / Hour

What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and partners at a shelter location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, grounds, and perimeter, to help identify and report security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, observe activity throughout the location, and report unauthorized access, disturbances, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, respectful, problem-solving manner, following site procedures and documenting events as required.
• Assist with maintaining an orderly, welcoming environment by providing directions, communicating professionally, and supporting staff during resident and visitor interactions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
